Meeting with Senator Judy Schwank
Today I met with Senator Judy Schwank. She asked me to come meet with her about Operation Breakfast and Blankets and also because I wrote to her about making a law to prevent food waste.
Mr Williams from the Berks Coalition to End Homelessness got me thinking about this a few weeks back.
At the meeting, she asked me to do more research and to help her get more information on the topic. She said we need to make a good case on any law she might try to make happen.
She is a really nice person, and I think that she will make an amazing partner in this quest to stop food waste. She also seemed like she wasn’t kidding and she was going to spend a lot of time on this just like me. We even shook on our partnership.
I brought along bags of Dieffenbach Uglies chips to show that businesses are taking a stand against food waste and helping kids who are hungry. Businesses like Dieffenbach’s are a lot of help to the community.
I hope you guys will help too by limiting what food you throw away, or buying so much food that you know you won’t eat it all, and by trying to eat everything on your plate. You guys and all of us together can be an amazing and a big help to the community and the world.
Thank you!
